Recently, Thomas went through a complete rebrand involving all-new compliant packaging solutions for her Honey Pot product line, and now these popular items are back on dispensary shelves throughout California. One of the original makers of infused honey, the new bottles of Honey Pot include a measuring cup for precise doses of 10 mg of THC. Kikoko
Founded by Amanda Jones and Jennifer Chapin and featured by Oprah Magazine, Kikiko has popularized the idea of “high tea,” with their low-dose, effect-specific teas blending cannabinoids with other supportive herbs to induce certain moods. Formulated for pain, sleep, sex and fun—the teas make cannabis approachable for middle-aged women looking to get more out of life. Kikoko’s “Sensuali-tea” blends seven milligrams of THC with aphrodisiac rose petals, hibiscus, orange peel and more synergistic herbs designed to enhance intimacy. Other formulas include Sympa-Tea for pain and anxiety, Tranquili-Tea for relaxation and sleep, and Positivi-Tea for an improved, joyful mood.
Humboldt Apothecary
With over 25 years of experience as herbalists, the female founders Gillian Levy and Susan Smith at Humboldt Apothecary combine cannabinoids with other supportive herbs to potent mouth drops—called “tinctures”—to relieve specific issues. With an extensive “Sweet Jane” product line containing a wide variety of THC to CBD ratios, there’s an option for every individual. Tinctures promising to Rest, Relax, and Uplift combine various essential oils with cannabis infused into medium-chain triglyceride (MCT) coconut oil to create varying effects. Look for “Love Potion No. 7,” a tincture promoting healthy libido with damiana, cinnamon, cardamom, kava kava and roasted cacao nibs.
Yummi Karma & High Gorgeous
Yes, we are a woman-owned-and-operated company. But we are so much more than that. We are different. We are diverse. We are bold. And we truly believe in the power of the plant.
In 2014, we had a vision of what the future held. We dreamed of the day when cannabis was legal, safe, and easily accessible. We began Yummi Karma with that in mind. It hasn’t always been easy.
Since day one, we have operated like a regulated manufacturer, even when the Cities and State didn’t recognize us as a “real” business. We have opened and lost dozens of bank accounts, just trying to pay taxes. But we persisted.
In 2016, we launched the first mainstream cannabis beauty brand, High Gorgeous – and it took off, just like we knew it would.
When California finally approved legalization in 2017, we went into action looking for a zoned area to buildout our new manufacturing facility. We found our home in the heart of Costa Mesa and began construction. We worked feverishly on the application process and were very proud to become the first licensed manufacturer in Orange County.
It gave us the opportunity to add to our team, and we welcomed onboard some of the most talented, motivated, and diverse women in the industry. All the while, remembering what brought us here in the first place.
Today, we continue to find new, innovative, and effective ways to use cannabis to help women like us. Our products are good for the mind, body, and soul. We have helped shatter stereotypes about cannabis users and the cannabis industry. We have come a long way, but we still have a long way to go. Thank you for being such a big part of our journey – then, now, and as we all move forward, together.
Zendo Edibles
The founder of Zendo was born into the cannabis community. Her family is long-standing medical cannabis advocates, and her sister even operates a cannabusiness of her own. As the more health conscious of the family, Zendo was an extension of her passion for natural wellness. There weren’t many organic options on the market and she wanted to create something that makes the most of her passion and connects with others. She developed her first products and right away got extremely positive feedback, it was time to debut her creations. Zendo launched in February 2017 and has elevated the standard for cannabis-infused edibles.
Last but not least, one of our favorites, founded by a married couple…
Kiva Confections
KIVA Confections creates cannabis infused confections and is one of the most recognized cannabis companies in California.
The company was born out of a need for an edible product that was potent, consistent, and enjoyable to consume. In early 2010 the cannabis edible market was desperately underserved; the products available were untested, unlabeled, and inconsistent in potency.
To solve this problem, founders Scott Palmer and Kristi Knoblich began exploring novel approaches to infusing cannabis into food. After visiting a local chocolatier, the lightbulb went off. Working with expert cannabis cultivators, certified analytics laboratories, and a lot of trial and error, KIVA was born.
To accompany the new product, the founders developed a mission statement that would go beyond simply delivering a better edible. It included a commitment to efficacy, food safety, and business integrity which continues today.
After 9 months of careful development, KIVA Confections was launched. Immediately consumers took notice and fell in love with the product for its certified potency, incredible taste and informative packaging.
